Spread the love

By Joy Warren

Apparently, people in Bladen County have a hard time accepting something free … no strings attached … no donation required.

The College and Career Group (the J*Walkers) and many other volunteers at Foundation Church in Elizabethtown, spent Saturday morning sharing a blessing with the Bladen County Community. Many people wanted to pay for the car wash and many wanted to make donations. No money was accepted.

The group of volunteers served and blessed 86 vehicles during their free car wash!

The J*Walkers (Jesus Walkers) spearheaded the event to show their love for the community. The T-shirts the volunteers wore said “Just accept it … a gift can’t be earned or purchased!” based on Ephesians 2:8 – “For you are saved by grace through faith and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift.”

Foundation Pastor Jason Williams said that “this event follows our core values as a church – Jesus is our message; People are our passion; Love is our spirit; Servant leadership is our identity; and Generosity is our privilege. We were so blessed to be able to share the love of Jesus with the community today! Thank you, Bladen County for allowing us to serve you! It has been our privilege.”

Foundation Church is located at 909 South Poplar Street in Elizabethtown. For more information, go to www.cometothefoundation.org.
