CLINTON–  A four-run West Bladen rally came up a run short as Clinton held on for a 5-4 Four County Conference jayvee baseball victory over the Knights.

The Dark Horses built a 5-0 lead, before the Knights pulled to within a single run.

The Dark Horses built a 5-0 lead, before the Knights pulled to within a single run in the sixth. Caleb Sholar led off the sixth with a single, and sophmore Jonathan Robinson walked. Sophmore Trey Storms knocked in Sholar with a single.

Ian Sykes drove in Robinson with a single, and one out later catcher Jeremy Pait smacked a single that scored Storms. Cameron Peterson belted a 2-out single that drove in Sykes and trimmed the Clinton lead to 5-4.

Sholar batted 2-2 with a run scored to lead the West Bladen hitters. Jalen Drew, Jeremy Pait, Jonathan Ashworth, Storms, Sykes and Peterson collected one hit each.

Robinson, Storms and Sykes scored one run each. Jeremy Pait, Sykes, Storms and Peterson drove in one run each.

Storms went the distance on the mound for the Knights, allowed 10 hits, struck out 6 and walked two.
