ELIZABETHTOWN — Braylon Cromartie scattered five hits over five innings and three East Bladen players drove in two runs Tuesday afternoon in a 12-6 victory against Clinton in Southeastern Athletic Conference junior varsity baseball game.

Cole Butler, Isaiah Lee and Easton Bostic each drove in two runs while Debo Lewis, Andrew Musselwhite and Aiden Hargrove each had two hits for the Eagles (5-1, 2-1 Southeastern).

Cromartie gave up three runs – two earned – struck out four and walked six during his outing. Bostic pitched the final inning and allowed three runs – one earned – on a hit and two walks.

East Bladen scored twice in the first inning. Lewis cracked a one-out double to center. Cole Butler was hit by a pitch. Both runners advanced on a stolen base, then moved up again on a wild pitch that gave the Eagles their first run. Lee’s ground out to second plated Butler.

Clinton tied it with a pair of runs in the top of the second, but East Bladen countered with four runs in the bottom of the inning for a 6-2 lead.

Singles by Musselwhite and Hargrove began the Eagles’ second and were advanced on Cromartie’s sacrifice bunt. Bostic’s ground out scored Musselwhite. Hargrove scored on a wild pitch. Zach Sholar walked and moved to third on a single by Lewis. Both runners scored on Butler’s single to center.

East Bladen made it 9-3 in the third, using a walk to Colton Daly, single by Musselwhite and walk to Cromartie to load the bases. Courtesy runner Tredon Scott and Musselwhite scored on a wild pickoff throw to first and Cromartie made it to third. Boston’s ground out drove home Cromartie.

The Eagles’ final three runs came in the fourth on run-producing singles by Lee and Hargrove and a ground out by Cromartie.

The teams are scheduled to play Friday at 4 p.m. in Clinton.
