East Bladen High SchoolROSE HILL – Sophomore Holden Clark pitched a one-hitter and struck out eleven to lead East Bladen to a 12-2 Four County Conference jayvee baseball victory over Union Tuesday.

Clark hit 3 batters and walked two. The Spartans capitalized on 3 walks, a hit batter and an error to score both of their runs in the second inning.

Freshman Gabe Barber led off the game with an Eagle single and stole second base. Jordan Robinson’s sacrifice bunt advanced the runner, and sophomore Spencer Scott drove in Barber with a single.

Sophomore Greyson Heustess smacked a single to begin the Eagle second inning and moved up on an infield out. Freshman Jake Evans knocked him in with a single.

After Union tied the game 2-2 in the second, Robinson reached base on an error in the Eagle third, and Scott delivered the single that drove him in. Scott advanced on a stolen base and a passed ball before scoring on sophomore Dan Tatum’s sacrifice bunt.

Heustess slammed a double and scored on an error to put East up 5-2 as Clark reached base.

Evans reached base on an error in the fourth inning and sprinted home as Xavier McKoy reached base on an error to stretch the lead to 6-2.

Scott reached on an error to begin the East fifth inning. Tatum advanced Scott with a sacrifice bunt, and Heustess belted a single that plated Scott. Heustess stole second base and dashed home when Clark smacked a single.

Evans smashed a double, and McKoy poled a sacrifice fly that scored Clark. Davis Alsup knocked in Evans with a single to grow the Eagle lead to 10-2.

Tatum walked, stole 2 bases and darted home on a wild pitch in the seventh inning. Heustess walked, stole second and scampered home when Clark swatted a single.

Heustess batted 3-3 with a double, 4 runs scored and a run batted in to lead the Eagle offense. Clark finished 2-4 at the plate with 2 rbi’s and 2 runs scored. Evans batted 2-4 with a double, an rbi and 2 runs scored.

Scott turned in a 2-4 game at the plate, scored twice and had an rbi. Barber and Alsup added one hit each. Alsup, McKoy and Tatum drove in runs. Barber, Robinson and Tatum scored one run each

Coach Ritchie Priest’s Eagle jayvees raised their record to 11-1 in league play and 13-2 overall. East Bladen will travel to West Bladen Thursday for a 4 p.m. game.
