WHITEVILLE- East Bladen rallied from an early 5-0 deficit to defeat Whiteville 12-5 Friday in Three Rivers Conference jayvee baseball action.

The Wolfpack scored 5 two-out runs in the first inning on 4 hits, a walk and an error.

The Eagles battled back in the second inning. Drew Sholar belted a single, Mahki Cromartie walked and Brandon Fine was hit by a pitch. Sholar was forced at the plate, but Jay McKoy was hit by a pitch to force home Cromartie. Brandon Fine also scored to close the gap to 5-2.

Rasean McKoy hammered a double in the East Bladen third and scored on a passed ball. Sholar and Cromartie drew walks, and Chase Starkloff knocked them in with a single that tied the game 5-5.

Freshman Raymond Autry led off the Eagle fourth with a single and stole a base. Cromartie delivered a 2-out single that scored Autry with the go-ahead run.

The Eagles broke the game open with a 6-run sixth inning. Autry reached base on an error, and Rasean McKoy cracked a single. Cromartie swatted a single that scored Autry. Rasean McKoy scored as Brandon Fine reached base on an error. Sophmore Jacob Priest slammed a double that scored Cromartie and Brandon Fine.

Jay McKoy laced a single, and Tyler Hill launched a sacrifice fly that scored Priest. Dylan Fine ripped a single that scored Jay McKoy to push the lead to 12-5.

Cromartie batted 2-2 with 2 runs batted in and scored 3 times to lead the Eagle hitters. Jay McKoy was also 2-2 with an rbi and a run scored. Autry finished 2-5 at the plate with a double and 2 runs scored. Rasean McKoy also batted 2-5 with a double and 2 runs scored.

Priest clubbed the 2-run double and scored a run. Starkloff, Sholar and Dylan Fine added one hit each. Starkloff had 2 rbi’s, and Dylan Fine had one. Brandon Fine scored twice, and Sholar scored a run.

Cromartie pitched a complete game and allowed the 5 runs on 8 hits and a walk while striking out four.

The Eagles will host South Columbus Tuesday.
