FAIRMONT – Makhi Cromartie pitched a one-hitter and drove in 2 runs to lead East Bladen to a 13-3 Three Rivers Conference jayvee baseball victory over Fairmont Friday.

Cromartie walked 3, hit one, struck out 2 and allowed 3 runs – one earned to pick up the victory. The only hit was by the Tornado lead-off batter in the first inning.

The Eagles exploded for 7 runs in the first inning. Jay McKoy reached base on an error to start the game, and Jake Evans and Tyler Hill drew walks to load the bases. Xavier McKoy’s fielder’s choice plated Jay McKoy.

Jacob Priest reached base on an error that scored Evans and Hill. Drew Sholar, Garrett Melvin and Cromartie drew walks that forced home Xavier McKoy and Priest.

Greyson Clark belted a single that scored Sholar and Melvin. Jay McKoy knocked in Cromartie with a single.

Fairmont scored a run in the home first and added 2 runs in the third to close the gap to 7-3.

Priest drew a walk to begin the East Bladen fourth, and Sholar was hit by a pitch. Melvin’s fielder’s choice scored Priest for an 8-3 Eagle lead.

Rasean McKoy smacked a single to lead off the Eagle fifth inning. Evans reached on a passed third strike. Hill reached base on an error as Rasean McKoy scored. Xavier McKoy walloped a triple that scored Evans and Hill.

Priest’s fielder’s choice plated Xavier McKoy. Melvin laced a single, and Cromartie slammed a double to drive him in and boost the lead to 13-3.

Xavier McKoy blasted a 2-run triple, drove in 3 runs and scored one to lead the Eagle hitters. Hill clobbered a triple and scored twice. Cromatie doubled in 2 runs and scored one.

Melvin, Jay McKoy, Rasean McKoy, and Clark delivered one hit each. Jay McKoy, Priest and Clark drove in 2 runs each. Priest and Melvin knocked in one run each. Priest, Evans and Melvin scored 2 runs each, and Jay McKoy, Rasean McKoy and Sholar scored one run each.

The Eagle jayvees improved to 11-1 on the season and will host St. Pauls Tuesday at 4 p.m.
