FAIRMONT – Braylon Cromartie pitched a 3-hitter and struck out 6 batters, and East Bladen racked up 18 hits in a 22-1 Southeastern Athletic Conference jayvee baseball victory Thursday over Fairmont.

The Eagles grabbed the early lead with an 8-run 1st inning. Zach Sholar and Davion Lewis drew walks, and Cole Butler slapped a single through the left side that scored Sholar. Lewis and Butler both scored on passed balls, before Isaiah Lee walloped a triple to center field then scored on a passed ball.

Colton Daly, Aidan Hargrove, Cromartie and Easton Bostic drew walks and Daly, Hargrove and Cromartie scored runs. Sholar laced a single to right and scored the final run of the inning.

Lee and Andrew Musselwhite cracked singles to start the 2nd inning. Daly yanked a double to right, and Hargrove and Cromartie smacked singles. Bostic walked, and Musselwhite smashed a single to right-center field. Lee, Musselwhite, Daly, Cromartie, Bostic, Sholar, Lewis and Butler scored runs to push the Eagle lead to 16-0.

Musselwhite, Daly, Cromartie, Levi Harrelson, Lewis and Butler swatted singles in the East 4th inning, and Bostic walked. Musselwhite, Daly, Cromartie, Bostic, Harrelson and Lewis scored runs to extend the lead to 22-1.

Butler batted 4-for-5 and scored 2 runs. Musselwhite finished 3-for-4 at the plate and scored 2 runs. Lewis batted a perfect 2-for-2 with 2 walks and scored 3 runs. Daly finished 2-for-3 at the plate with a double, a walk and 3 runs scored. Cromartie also batted a perfect 2-for-2, walked, was hit by a pitch and scored 3 runs.

Lee finished 2-for-5 at the plate with a double and 2 runs scored. Sholar singled, walked 3 times and scored 3 runs. Hargrove singled, walked and scored a run. Harrelson singled and scored a run. Bostic walked 4 times and scored 2 runs. Eagle batters drew 12 walks in the game.

Coach Kenzil McCall’s Eagles improved to 6-2 in SAC-7 play and 9-2 overall. East Bladen is scheduled to host South Brunswick Wednesday.
