East Bladen High SchoolROCKY POINT – Sophmore Spencer Scott pitched a 4-hit shutout and struck out six Wednesday to lead East Bladen to a 4-0 Four County Conference jayvee baseball victory over Heide Trask.

Freshman Jordan Robinson and sophmore Shy Pone drew walks in the Eagle first inning, and sophmore Greyson Heustess hammered a double that scored both runners for a quick 2-0 lead.

Sophmore Eric Chancy cracked a lead-off single in the East Bladen second inning. Freshman Jake Evans slammed a double that drove in Chancy for a 3-0 Eagle lead.

Pone belted a one-out single in the Eagle sixth inning, stole second and raced home when Davis Alsup belted a single for a 4-0 lead.

Evans batted 2-2 with a double and a run batted in to lead the Eagle hitters. Heustess smashed the 2-run double, and Pone, Chancy and Alsup added one hit each.

Pone scored 2 runs, and Chancy and Robinson scored one run each. Alsup drove in a run.

Coach Ritchie Priest’s Eagle jayvees improved to 9-1 in Four County Conference play and 11-2 overall. East Bladen will host Wallace-Rose Hill Friday at 4 p.m.
