ELIZABETHTOWN- Sophomore Jacob Priest pitched a one-hitter and struck out six batters Monday to lead East Bladen to a 5-0 Three Rivers Conference jayvee baseball victory over South Columbus.

Priest walked one and hit two batters. The only Stallion hit was a 2-out single by Aaron Cartrette in the third inning.

The Eagles grabbed a 1-0 first inning lead. Jay McKoy walked, stole second and darted home on Tyler Hill’s sacrifice bunt.

Priest reached base on an error to begin the Eagle second inning, and his courtesy runner, Ahmad Powell, dashed home on Greyson Clark’s fielder’s choice. Freshman Chase Starkloff cracked a 2-out single, stole second and third base then scooted home on a passed ball.

Jay McKoy and Hill drew walks and stole bases. Jay McKoy bolted home on a passed ball, and Dylan Fine knocked in Hill with a single to stretch the East lead to 5-0.

Fine batted 2-2 with a run batted in to lead the East Bladen hitters. Jay McKoy singled and scored 2 runs. Starkloff singled and scored. Hill and Powell scored runs, and Hill and Clark drove in runs.

The Eagles will host West Columbus Tuesday.
