Debo Lewis pitched a complete game two-hitter and drove in two runs Friday afternoon as the East Bladen junior varsity baseball team defeated Midway 6-2 in a Southeastern Athletic Conference game at Russell Priest Field.

Easton Bostic also drove in a pair of runs with two singles for the Eagles (4-1, 1-1 Southeastern), who avenged a 6-4 loss at Midway on Tuesday.

Midway used a hit batter, fielder’s choice and two errors to plate a run in the first inning.

East Bladen strung together six hits and scored four runs in the second to take the lead for good. Colton Daly opened with an infield hit, but was forced at second on Andrew Musselwhite’s ground ball. Aiden Hargrove followed with a single that moved Musselwhite to second. Braylon Cromartie’s sacrifice bunt advanced each runner a base. Bostic and Tredon Scott followed with run-producing singles and Lewis drove home a pair with a single up the middle.

Midway cut it to 4-2 in the third when Wyatt Scott singled, moved to second on a pop foul out, went to third on a wild pitch and scored on Jackson Campbell’s double to left-center.

East Bladen added single runs in the third and fourth innings.

In the third, Isaiah Lee ripped a double to left and scored on Bostic’s bases-loaded, two-out single to center.

In the fourth, Lewis reached on an error and scored on Cole Butler’s ground out.

Lewis struck out seven, walked four and hit two batters in his six innings on the mound for East Bladen.

Bostic’s two hits led East Bladen’s nine-hit offensive attack. Lewis, Butler, Lee, Daly, Musselwhite, Hargrove and Scott each had a hit.

The East Bladen JVs are scheduled to host Clinton on Tuesday, then play at Clinton on Friday in a pair of Southeastern Athletic Conference games.
