ELIZABETHTOWN — Gavin Lloyd pitched a one-hitter as South Brunswick defeated East Bladen 5-1 on Wednesday in a junior varsity baseball game at Russell Priest Field.

East Bladen’s lone hit came in the second inning and led to the Eagles’ lone run. Aiden Hargrove’s single up the middle advanced Colton Daly, who had walked, to second base. Braylon Cromartie reached on an error on a sacrifice bunt that loaded the bases with no outs. Easton Bostic then reached on a fielder’s choice that plated Daly.

East Bladen had at least two runners on base in each of the five-inning game and left 10 runners on base. Lloyd walked six and hit two batters.

South Brunswick scored three runs in the second inning highlighted by Carter Hooper’s steal of home on a double steal.

The Cougars’ other two runs came in the third. Gavin Templeman drew a two-out walk and scored on Jayden Daniels’ second double of the game. Daniels later scored on an error.

The game was delayed about 30 minutes midway through because of rain and finished under a light drizzle.

East Bladen ends its season with a 9-3 record, which included a 6-2 record in the Southeastern Athletic Conference.
