DUBLIN – South Columbus broke free from a 2-2 tie and defeated West Bladen 9-2 Friday in Three Rivers Conference jayvee baseball action.

The Knights scored 2 runs in the third inning to pull even, but the Stallions scored 4 runs in the fourth and tacked on 3 more in the fifth to claim the victory.

Freshman Sam West walked to begin the West Bladen third, and junior Shawn Oxendine slammed a double to leftfield. Junior Jeremy Pait hammered a double to centerfield to drive in Sam West and Oxendine.

Jeremy Pait and Oxendine led the West Bladen hitters with a double each, and junior Thomas West and freshman Austin May connected for one hit each for the Knights.

Sam West started on the mound for the Knights and was relieved in the fourth by Andrew Pait.

The Knight jayvees will host East Bladen Monday at 4 p.m.
