South Robeson defeated visiting West Bladen 9-6 Thursday in non-conference jayvee baseball action.

The game was shortened to an hour and a half time limit due to the need to start the varsity game early because of the rainy forecast.

The Mustangs turned 4 hits and a walk into four runs and took a 4-3 lead in the bottom of the first.

Dalton Pait drew a 2-out walk in the Knight second inning, and Guyton and Smith cracked singles with Smith’s hit driving in Pait and tying the game 4-4.

The Mustangs answered with 5 runs on 2 hits, 2 walks, 2 hit batters and an error to take a 9-4 lead in the second.

Storms belted a one-out single in the West third inning. One out later, Justin Nickle, Brandon Strange and Dalton Pait drew walks as Storms scored. Guyton delivered a single that plated Nickle, but the game was stopped by the time limit.

Guyton batted a perfect 3-3, scored a run and drove in one to lead the Knight hitters. Smith and Storms both turned in perfect 2-2 games at the plate with an rbi and a run scored each. Robinson hammered the 2-run double and scored a run.
