ROWLAND – Sophmore Derrick Long and freshman Tyre Boykin combined to pitch West Bladen’s jayvee baseball team to a 13-2 non-conference victory over South Robeson Wednesday.

“Derrick started the game with 4 strong innings,” said Knight Coach Todd Pait. “Tyre came in to shut the Mustangs down in the last inning.”

Sophmore Brandon Strange batted a perfect 3-3 to lead the Knight hitters, and sophmore Dalton Pait slammed a double and finished 2-4 at the plate. Freshman Colby White belted a single.

The Knight jayvees are now 2-0 and will host St. Pauls Friday at 4 p.m.
