BLADENBORO – Four West Bladen pitchers teamed up to pitch a 1-hitter and lead the Knights to a 13-4 Southeastern Athletic Conference jayvee baseball victory Monday over St. Pauls.

West starter Aiden Russ pitched 3 scoreless, hitless innings, hitting a batter, walking 2 and striking out two. Luke Pait worked 0.2 innings of relief giving up 3 runs on a hit and 4 walks. Garrett Dunham struck out the only batter that he faced to end the 4th inning, and Cade Allen struck out the side and walked two in the 5th inning.

Dunham walloped a triple to drive in Andre Moore who had walked in the Knight 1st inning. Dunham scored on an error, and Allen walked, stole a base and dashed home on Brady Durden’s fielder’s choice for a 3-0 lead.

Hezekiah Blanks-Adams reached base on an error in the West Bladen 2nd inning and scooted home when Moore launched a sacrifice fly to center field. Dunham slammed a double, stole 3rd base and raced home on an error for a 5-0 lead.

Mason Jones reached base on an error to begin the Knights’ 3rd inning, and Aiden Russ knocked him in with a single. Blanks-Adams, Moore, Dunham and Allen drew consecutive walks. Richard Severine, the courtesy runner for Russ, and Blanks-Adams scampered home on passed balls, and Moore scored on a wild pitch. Brady Durden poled a sacrifice fly that scored Dunham. Allen galloped home on an error as the lead grew to 11-0.

After St. Pauls scored 3 runs in the 4th inning, Severine led off the bottom of the inning with a single and later scored on a wild pitch. Dunham drew a 2-out walk, and Allen hammered a double to drive him in and stretch the lead to 13-3.

Dunham batted 2-for-2 with a triple, a double, 4 runs scored and a run batted in. Allen doubled, scored twice and had an RBI. Luke Howell smashed a double. Moore and Blanks-Adams scored 2 runs each. Durden had 2 RBIs. Moore and Aiden Russ had RBIs. Jones, Aiden Russ and Severine scored runs, and Aiden Russ and Severine had 1 hit each.

Coach Scott Bowen’s Knight jayvees improved to 5-3 in SAC-7 play and 8-3 overall. The West Bladen JV’s will host West Columbus Wednesday at 4 p.m.
