ELIZABETHTOWN – Clinton defeated East Bladen 47-33 Friday night in Four County Conference jayvee boys basketball action.
 
Sophmore Greyson Heustess drained a 3-point shot, and sophmore Shy Pone tossed in a basket and a free throw to keep the Eagles within 10-7 in the first quarter.
 
Sophmore Pierce Melvin sank 4 free throws in the second period, and Robbie Cooley dropped in a basket, but Clinton still led 22-14 at halftime.
 
Pone nailed a 3-point shot and a free throw in the third quarter, and Anthony Wooten threw in a couple of baskets. Cooley scored again inside to keep East within 33-25 at the quarter break.
 
Cooley, Heustess and Allen Owens scored baskets in the final period for East.
 
Pone and Cooley shared scoring honors for the Eagles with 7 points each. Heustess and Melvin followed with 5 points each.
 
Coach Greg High’s Eagles are now 1-1 in league play and 4-3 overall.
