ELIZABETHTOWN – Nazire Smith fired in 15 points to lead East Bladen to a 27-16 non-conference jayvee boys basketball victory over Midway Wednesday night.
Malaki Monroe tossed in a basket and a free throw, and Smith and Malcolm Bolden threw in baskets to keep the Eagles even 7-7 at the first quarter break. Smith pumped in 2 baskets and a free throw, and Monroe added a basket as the Eagles built a 14-10 halftime lead.
Smith drained a 3-point shot in the third quarter, Bolden sank 3 free throws, and Zamar Lewis dropped in a basket as the Eagle lead stretched to 22-12. Smith connected for 2 baskets and a free throw in the final period to keep East Bladen on top.
Monroe and Bolden finished with 5 points each for Coach Jay Raynor’s Eagles who posted their second consecutive victory. East Bladen pounded South Columbus 41-12 Tuesday night.
