CERRO GORDO – East Bladen’s jayvee boys rode a 13-2 fourth-quarter blitz to a 33-30 Three Rivers Conference basketball victory over West Columbus Thursday night.
West Columbus took a 28-20 lead into the final period, but Kasey Price fired in a pair of baskets, and Charles Brown threw in a basket and 2 free throws. Rasean McKoy sank 3 free throws, and Lefrederick Wooten tossed in a basket as the Eagles pulled out the win.
Tayshaun Berkeley topped the East Bladen scoring with 9 points, and Wooten finished with 6 points. Allen Owens and Rasean McKoy followed with 5 points each.
Wooten and Owens bombed in 3-point shots in the opening period to keep the Eagles within 14-7. Berkeley racked up a trio of baskets in the second quarter, Owens flipped in a basket, and Rasean McKoy hit 2 free throws but East still trailed 24-17 at halftime.
Another Berkeley basket and a Wooten free throw accounted for the East scoring in the third period.
The Eagles travel to Fairmont Friday.
