CLINTON – East Bladen outscored Clinton 22-12 in the 2nd half to stretch a 16-15 halftime lead into a 38-27 Southeastern Athletic Conference jayvee boys basketball victory Thursday.
Kewone Maynor threw in a pair of 2nd quarter baskets and sank 3 free throws and another basket in the 2nd half to lead the Eagle scoring with 9 points. Teammate Chace Butler pumped in a basket and 2 free throws in the 1st half then cashed in 2 free throws in the 3rd period to finish with 7 points.
Tevin McLean popped in a 1st half basket then tossed in 2 more baskets after intermission to tally 6 points for the winners. Malikah Moore dropped in 2 baskets and a free throw in the 2nd half, and Shannon Hankins drilled in a 3-point shot and 2 foul shots in the final period. Both totaled 5 points for the Eagles.
Sherman Long bombed in a 3-point shot, and Keyshawn Kemp powered in a basket and a free throw in the opening quarter for East.
Coach Aking Elting’s Eagles raised their record to 5-3 in SAC-7 play and 11-5 overall. East Bladen will visit West Bladen Monday.
