ELIZABETHTOWN – Lee Barnes and Jacob Nixon combined for 20 points Tuesday to lead East Bladen to a 39-21 Three Rivers Conference jayvee boys basketball victory over West Columbus.
Malaki Monroe drained a 3-point shot and another basket in the 1st quarter, Barnes converted an old-fashioned 3-point play, and Nixon nailed a 3-point shot as the Eagles edged in front 11-9.

Barnes buried a pair of 3-point shots in the 2nd quarter, and J’marius Smith sank 2 free throws as the Eagles padded their lead to 19-12 at halftime.
Nixon pumped in a basket and 2 free throws in the 3rd period, and Barnes, Monroe, Cam White and Corey Robbins threw in baskets as East Bladen opened up a 31-18 lead.
Blaine Pope connected for a pair of Eagle baskets in the final quarter, and Nixon and Peyton Tatum popped in baskets.
Barnes led the Eagles with 11 points. Nixon finished with 9 points, and Monroe totaled 7 points in the game.
Coach Aking Elting’s Eagle jayvees improved to 2-1 in league play and 4-2 overall.
