TABOR CITY – East Bladen raced to leads of 9-2, 20-8 and 33-12 en route to a 44-18 non-conference jayvee boys’ basketball victory Tuesday over South Columbus.

Shannon Hankins buried a pair of 3-point shots and a free throw in the 1st half for the Eagles. Teammates Sherman Long and Malikah Moore popped in a basket and a free throw each. Khalil McKoy, Kyran McKoy and Keyshawn Kemp tossed in a basket each.

Kewone Maynor threw in 2 baskets and a free throw to lead the Eagles in the 2nd half. Kemp worked the paint for a pair of baskets, and Long, Torrean Cogdell and Khalil McKoy bombed in 3-point shots in the final period.

Hankins led the Eagles with 9 points. Long, Maynor and Kemp finished with 6 points each. Moore and Khalil McKoy added 5 points each. A. J. Scott poured in 14 points to lead the Stallions.

Coach Aking Elting’s Eagles raised their record to 2-0 and will travel to East Columbus next Wednesday.
