ROCKY POINT – East Bladen rallied from 19 points down in the first half and claimed a 48-46 Four County Conference jayvee boys basketball over Heide Trask.

The Titans held the Eagles to only 6 points in the first period. Byron Bowen tossed in a basket and a free throw, Allen Owens popped in a basket, and center Robbie Cooley hit a free throw for the East Bladen points.

Owens fired in 3 baskets and a free throw in the second period, and Anthony Wooten netted a basket and a free throw, but the Eagles still trailed at halftime.

Wooten drilled a 3-point shot, a trio of 2-point baskets and a free throw to key a 20-point third-quarter surge that pulled the Eagles even with the Titans. Guard Keshaun Davis threw in a basket and 2 free throws in the period, and Cooley, Joshua McKoy and Majuan McKoy added a basket each.

Davis pumped in a basket and 2 free throws in the fourth quarter. Wooten tossed in a basket and a free throw, and Jordan Robinson and Tayshaun Berkely chipped in with a basket each. Sophmore Pierce Melvin sank a free throw as the Eagles pulled out the win.

Wooten topped the Eagle scoring with 16 points, and Owens finished with 9 points, and Davis followed with 8 points.

Coach Greg High’s Eagles improved to 7-3 in league play and 12-5 overall. East Bladen will host Wallace-Rose Hill Thursday after the exam break.
