DUBLIN –Anthony Wooten and Majuan McKoy combined for 30 points to lead East Bladen’s jayvee boys to a 55-52 Four County Conference basketball victory over West Bladen Thursday night.

Wooten who led the Eagles with 17 points lit up the scoreboard with 5 baskets and a free throw in the first quarter. Sophomore Shy Pone drained a 3-pointer and made a basket and a free throw, and Tayshaun Berkely added a basket as the Eagles raced to a 19-8 lead.

Guard Jaheim Lesane, center Jason Moore and freshmen Logan West and Tra’shawn Ballard scored a basket each for the Knights in the first quarter.

Shemaiah Leak dropped in a basket and a free throw for the Knights in the second period. Ballard, freshman Tyre Boykin and Lesane added a basket each as West Bladen pulled to within 26-17 at halftime.

Freshman Jordan Robinson drilled in a 3-point shot for the Eagles in the second quarter, and Pone and Berkely netted a basket each.

Boykin pumped in 3 baskets in the third period, West buried a 3-point shot, Trequan Spivey popped in a basket and Lesane hit a free throw as the Knights whittled the Eagle lead to 37-29.

Wooten canned 2 free throws and a basket for East in the third period. Berkely delivered a 3-point shot, and Joshua McKoy and Keshaun Davis tossed in a basket each.

Majuan McKoy poured in all 13 of his points in the final quarter on six 2-point shots and a free throw as the Eagles pulled out the victory. Byron Bowen added a basket, Wooten made 2 free throws, and Joshua McKoy hit one.

Trenton Lyons bombed in a pair of 3-point shots to lead the Knight fourth quarter rally. Lesane popped in 2 baskets, and Leak threw in a basket and 2 free throws. Kerron Washington, Boykin, Najee McKoy and Nolan Bryant added a basket each in the period.

Pone finished with 8 points for the Eagles, and Berkely followed with 7 points. Boykin topped the Knight scoring with 10 points. Lesane followed with 9 points, and Leak finished with 7 points. Lyons totaled 6 points.

Coach Greg High’s Eagles concluded their season with a 11-3 league record and 15-5 overall mark. The Knights finished their season with a 5-8 conference record.
