DUNN – Freshman Jordan Robinson bombed in a pair of 3-point baskets in the fourth quarter as East Bladen’s jayvee boys outscored Midway 19-14 to claim a 59-54 Four County Conference victory Friday night.

Robinson added a free throw, and freshman teammate Majuan McKoy tossed in a basket and 3 free throws in the period. Sophmore Pierce Melvin netted a basket and a free throws as the Eagles pulled away from a 40-40 deadlock.

Robinson topped the Eagle scoring with 17 points, and Majuan McKoy finished with 16 points. Anthony Wooten followed with 7 points, and center Robbie Cooley finished with 5 points.

Midway jumped in front 16-12 in the first quarter. Robinson drained a pair of 3-point baskets, and Robinson, Majuan McKoy and Keshaun Davis threw in a basket each to keep the Eagles close.

Joshua McKoy dropped in a pair of baskets in the second period, and sophmore Greyson Heustess drilled a 3-point shot for East. Cooley and Majuan McKoy both worked the paint for a basket and a free throw each. Davis and Wooten added baskets as the Eagles edged in front 29-28 at halftime.

Majuan McKoy threw in a trio of baskets in the third quarter, Wooten made 3 free throws, and Robinson scored a basket but Midway pulled even at 40-40.

Coach Greg High’s Eagles improved to 5-2 in the Four County and 10-4 overall. East Bladen will travel to Clinton Wednesday night.
