DUBLIN – East Bladen rode a 22-7 second quarter surge to a 60-36 jayvee boys basketball victory over West Bladen Tuesday night in Three Rivers Conference action.
Corey McKoy nailed a pair of 3-point shots in the first quarter as the Eagles grabbed an 11-7 lead. Teammate Makhi Cromartie tossed in a basket, and Tayshaun Berkeley canned 2 free throws.
Nolan Bryant dropped in a pair of first-period baskets for the Knights, and teammate Ronald Thompson pumped in a basket and a free throw.
Corey McKoy who led all scorers with 14 points knocked down a pair of 3-point shots to key the Eagles second period explosion. Freshman Lefrederick Wooten drained a 3-point shot and another basket.
Rashard Willis pumped in a pair of baskets for the Eagles in the second period. Berkeley bombed in a 3-point shot, and Allen Owens and Kasey Price added a basket each as the lead grew to 33-14 at halftime.
Donovan Stone buried a 3-point shot for West Bladen in the second period. Teammate Jadecus Register popped in a basket and a free throw, and Da’shawn Hines hit a free throw.
East Bladen’s Rasean McKoy banged in a pair of third quarter baskets, Charles Brown netted a basket and 2 free throws, and Wooten and Jaquez McKoy knocked down 3-point shots as the Eagle lead stretched to 49-21.
Hines sank a basket and a free throw for West in the third quarter, and Register and Stone flipped in a basket each.
Stone drilled in a pair of 3-point shots in the fourth quarter and led the Knights with 11 points. Bryant flipped in 2 more baskets and a free throw and totaled 9 points. Thompson connected on a 3-point shot and a free throw to finish with 7 points.
Price hurled in a pair of baskets and a 3-point shot in the fourth quarter to finish with 9 points. Rasean McKoy connected on a 3-point shot to total 7 points. Wooten scored 8 points for East Bladen.
East Bladen will host Red Springs Friday night, while West Bladen visits East Columbus.
