ELIZABETHTOWN – Freshman Majuan McKoy and sophmore Shy Pone sparked a 29-point fourth-quarter explosion that vaulted East Bladen’s jayvee  boys to a 64-49 Four County Conference basketball victory over Union Friday night.

The Eagles carried a 35-32 lead into the final period, but Majuan McKoy fired in 10 of his game-high 16 points in the quarter, and Pone bombed in a pair of 3-point shots and scored 8 of his 11 points in the period.

Allen Owens sank 3 free throws, and Keshaun Davis, Joshua McKoy and Anthony Wooten threw in a basket each during the 29-17 closing run.

Davis, Byron Bowen, Robbie Cooley and Greyson Heustess scored a basket each in the first period that ended with Union on top 13-10.

Jordan Robinson drained a 3-point shot and another basket in the second quarter, and Joshua McKoy tossed in 2 baskets and a foul shot as the Eagles rode a 15-12 surge to pull even 25-25 at halftime. Heustess added a basket and a free throw in the quarter.

Pone nailed a 3-point shot in the third period, and Majuan McKoy, Cooley and Tayshaun Berkely dropped in a basket each as the Eagles edged ahead 35-32.

Joshua McKoy finished with 7 points for East Bladen. Heustess followed with 6 points, and Robinson added 5.

Coach Greg High’s Eagles improved to 4-2 in the Four County and 8-4 overall. The Eagles will host Fairmont Wednesday at 4:30 in an Endowment game.
