ELIZABETHTOWN – East Columbus rallied in the final quarter to edge East Bladen 22-20 Tuesday night in Three Rivers Conference jayvee boys basketball action.
After a scoreless first quarter, the Gators edged in front 9-6 at halftime. Freshman Malcolm Bolden tossed in a basket and a free throw, Nazire Smith sank 2 free throws and Yontee Dobson hit one for the Eagles.
Smith keyed an Eagle rally in the third period with 2 baskets and 2 free throws, and Dobson dropped in a basket as East Bladen forged ahead 14-13.
Zamar Lewis pumped in 2 baskets and a free throw, and Bolden added a free throw for East Bladen in the final quarter.
Smith led the Eagles with 8 points. Lewis followed with 5 points and Bolden added 4 points.
East Bladen will host Fairmont Wednesday night.
