LAKE WACCAMAW – East Columbus made 3 free throws with 0.9 seconds left to edge West Bladen 32-31 in Three Rivers Conference jayvee boys action.
The Knights led 31-29, but were called for a foul on a desperation heave by an East Columbus player who stepped to the line and made all 3 free throws for the win.
Donovan Stone fired in a trio of 3-point shots in the second half and led the West Bladen scoring with 11 points. Teammate Ronald Thompson nailed a fourth-quarter 3-point shot and added two more baskets to finish with 8 points.
Jadecus Register threw in a pair of second quarter baskets, hit 2 free throws in the third period and also scored 8 points for the Knights.
West Bladen will return to action Thursday after the exam break at home against South Robeson.
