ELIZABETHTOWN – Nate McKoy drilled in a 3-point shot at the buzzer that lifted Heide Trask to a 19-18 non-conference jayvee boys basketball victory over East Bladen Wednesday.

McKoy drained a pair of 3-point shots in the final period as the Titans rallied from a 14-11 deficit. Teammate Bradford Bannerman scored 4 of his team-high 7 points in the 2nd half. McKoy finished with 6 points, and Dru Hansen threw in a 3-ball and scored all 5 of his points for Trask in the 3rd quarter.

Shannon Hankins popped in a basket and a free throw for the Eagles in the 1st half. Malikah Moore dropped in a basket, and Kewone Maynor sank 2 free throws as East built a 7-3 halftime lead.

Sherman Long buried a 3-point shot and another basket in the 3rd quarter, and Moore added a basket to keep the Eagles on top 14-11. Chace Butler and Hankins tossed in a basket each to give East the 18-16 lead that lasted until the final shot.

Hankins and Long led the Eagles with 5 points each. Moore finished with 4 points.

The Eagle jayvees, now 8-3, will host Fairmont Friday in Southeastern Athletic Conference action.
