ELIZABETHTOWN – South Robeson defeated East Bladen 45-37 Tuesday night in Three Rivers Conference jayvee boys basketball action.
The Mustangs jumped out to a 14-8 first quarter lead. Juwan Baldwin drained a 3-point shot and hit a free throw for the Eagles in the quarter. Teammates Tayshaun Berkeley and Lefrederick Wooten tossed in a basket each in the period.
Berkeley sank a basket and 2 free throws for East in the second quarter, and Corey McKoy drilled in a 3-point shot, but South Robeson led 28-15 at halftime.
Charles Brown threw in 2 baskets in the third quarter, Wooten pumped in a basket, and Corey McKoy hit 2 free throws. Berkeley added a free throw as the Eagles trimmed the margin to 33-24 at the quarter break.
Corey McKoy connected on 5 of 6 free throws in the final period and added a basket for East. Baldwin, Allen Owens and Rashard Willis dropped in a basket each for the Eagles in the quarter.
Corey McKoy led the Eagle scoring with 12 points. Berkeley followed with 7 points, and Baldwin finished with 6 points.
The Eagle jayvees close out their season Friday night at home against West Bladen.
