ROWLAND – A 17-2 third quarter rally carried South Robeson to a 57-50 Three Rivers Conference jayvee boys basketball victory over East Bladen Friday night.
Tayshaun Berkeley threw in a 3-point bomb and 2 other baskets as the Eagles raced to a 17-5 first quarter lead. Corey McKoy nailed a 3-point shot and a free throw, Juwan Baldwin dropped in a pair of baskets, and Allen Owens popped in a basket.
Baldwin drained a 3-point shot and another basket in the second period, and Owens pumped in 2 baskets and a free throw. Corey McKoy buried a 3-point shot, and Rashard Willis added a bucket to keep East Bladen ahead 32-27 at halftime.
Berkeley scored the only Eagle basket of the third period as the Mustangs took a 44-34 lead.
Donevin Keith drilled in a 3-point shot and 2 more baskets in the final quarter for the Eagles. Berkeley netted 2 baskets and a free throw. Baldwin added a basket and a free throw.
Berkeley topped the Eagle scoring with 15 points. Baldwin finished with 12 points, and Owens, Keith and Corey McKoy scored 7 points each.
