West Bladen High School LogoSophmore John Bowen and freshman guard Jimmy Williams posted double-doubles Friday night to lead West Bladen’s jayvee boys to a 54-29 Four County Conference victory over visiting Heide Trask.

Bowen threw in 15 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and blocked a shot to lead the Knight offense. Bowen tossed in 10 points in the second half as West outscored the visitors 26-18.

Williams drained a pair of 3-point shots in the second quarter to spark an 18-7 West Bladen blitz that resulted in a 23-11 halftime lead. Williams finished with 10 points, 10 rebounds and one steal.

Traquan Smith led the Knights on the boards pulling down a whopping 16 rebounds to go with his 7 points. Kalvin Page nailed a 3-point shot in the first period and filled the stat sheet with 9 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists.

Gerardo Reyes contributed 4 points, 4 rebounds and 2 steals to the Knight cause. Emmanuel Jessup and Hunter Jackson grabbed 5 rebounds each for the winners, and teammate Dayvon Swindell had one steal.

Coach Taurius Baker’s Knights improved to 6-4 in Four County play and 10-6 overall.
