Sophomore John Bowen dominated the paint with a whopping 21 rebounds and added 15 points to lead West Bladen to a 58-50 Four County Conference JV boys’ basketball victory at Union Friday night
“We’ve been looking for a game like this from him,” said Knight Coach Taurius Baker. “We are very proud of him.”
Bowen shared scoring honors with teammate Kalvin Page who fired in 15 points, came up with 8 steals and dished out 4 rebounds. Kasson Page, Kalvin’s brother, just missed a double-double with 12 points, 9 rebounds and 3 steals.
Teammate Gerardo Reyes pumped in 6 points, grabbed 3 rebounds and had 3 steals. Traquan Smith blocked 3 shots and pulled down 4 rebounds.
The West Bladen JV’s improved to 4-3 in the Four County and 8-5 overall. The Knights will host Wallace-Rose Hill today (Saturday) at 3:30.
