CERRO GORDO – West Columbus built a 33-16 first half lead en route to a 46-36 Three Rivers Conference jayvee boys basketball victory over East Bladen Tuesday.

Nazire Smith pumped in a pair of first quarter baskets for the Eagles. Jacob Nixon drained a 3-point shot, Malcolm Bolden tossed in a basket, and Malaki Monroe sank 2 free throws to keep East within 20-11 at the first quarter break.

Nixon buried another 3-pointer in the second quarter, and Bolden flipped in a basket. Bolden popped in a trio of baskets in the third period, Ahmad Powell and Nixon threw in a basket each, and Powell made 2 free throws to keep East within 41-28 at the break.

Bolden drove for 2 more baskets in the final quarter, Monroe hit 2 more free throws, and Nixon connected for another basket. Bolden topped the Eagle scoring with 14 points, and Nixon followed with 10 points.

The Eagles will travel to Fairmont Friday night.
