TABOR CITY- East Bladen raced to an 11-4 lead and went on to defeat South Columbus 19-11 Friday night in Three Rivers Conference jayvee girls basketball action.

Shanell McMillian nailed a 3-point shot, Lavada Jackson threw in a basket and Lily Lin sank 2 free throws as the Lady Eagles jumped in front 7-2 in the first quarter.

Johanna Parker tossed in a second period basket, and McMillian and Lin canned free throws to produce the 11-4 halftime lead.

McMillian dropped in a basket and a free throw in the third quarter, and Lin pumped in another basket as the East Bladen lead stretched to 16-8 at the quarter break.

Aaniyah Jackson connected on 3 of 4 free throws in the final period for the Lady Eagles.

McMillian topped the East Bladen scoring with 7 points, and Lin finished with 5 points.

Coach Megan Kirby’s Lady Eagle jayvees will host Red Springs Friday night.
