BLADENBORO – Mariah Smith and Brianna Phillips tossed in 7 points each to lead East Bladen to a 21-14 Three Rivers Conference jayvee girls basketball victory over West Bladen Monday.
Phillips fired in a 3-point shot, and Smith sank 2 free throws as the Lady Eagles grabbed an early 5-2 lead. Xia Phair and Makayla Wright made free throws for the Lady Knights.

East Bladen’s MaKayla Dixon and West Bladen’s Azillyah McDonald traded free throws in the second period that ended with the Lady Eagles up 6-3 at halftime.
Phillips buried a 3-point shot and a free throw, and Smith connected on 3 free throws as the Lady Eagles padded their lead to 13-7. Wright and Phair threw in baskets for West in the quarter.
Lavada Jackson pumped in 2 baskets in the final quarter to keep East ahead. Calise Jackson and Smith popped in one basket each. Anasia Baxley flipped in a basket for West, Wright made 2 free throws, and Phair hit one.
Wright led the Lady Knight scoring with 5 points, and Phair followed with 4 points. Lavada Jacson scored 4 points for East Bladen.
Coach Megan Kirby’s Lady Eagles improved to 6-4 in the TRC and 8-4 overall and will travel to West Columbus Tuesday. West Bladen, now 3-9, will visit Whiteville Friday.
