Pender rode a 13-6 closing run to a 31-29 Four County Conference jayvee girls’ basketball victory at East Bladen Friday.
After a knotted 11-11 score at halftime, the Lady Eagles outscored Pender 12-7 in the third quarter to take a 23-18 lead into the final period.
Danielle McDowell tossed in 8 points to lead the East Bladen scoring. Teammate Yolanda Coston pumped in 7 points, and Deija Edwards followed with 6 points for East.
The Lady Eagles are now 4-4 in conference play and 7-6 overall. The East Bladen jayvee girls’ next game will be Friday at 4 p.m. when they host Wallace-Rose Hill.
