RED SPRINGS – A 7-2 second-quarter spurt propelled Red Springs to a 24-19 Three Rivers Conference jayvee girls basketball victory over West Bladen Friday.

Anniyah Phillips sank 3 free throws, and freshman Hannah Pait tossed in a basket as the Lady Knights built a 5-4 first quarter lead. Phillips added a second period basket, but the Lady Red Devils rallied for an 11-7 halftime lead.

Phillips, Pait and Ocean Woody threw in baskets in the third quarter as the Lady Knights trimmed the deficit to 16-13.

Pait fired in a trio of baskets in the final quarter and led the West Bladen scoring with 10 points. Phillips totaled 7 points in the game.

West Bladen will host East Columbus Friday.
