RED SPRINGS – Freshman Lexie Corrothers sank 5 free throws in the fourth period that vaulted West Bladen to a 16-15 non-conference jayvee girls basketball victory Wednesday over Red Springs.
Corrothers topped the Lady Knight scoring with 9 points. Freshman Kaycee Singletary added a basket in the final quarter as West Bladen outscored Red Springs 7-6.
Baskets by Corrothers and Chasitty Lacy and a free throw by Kwashera Chapman propelled the Lady Knights to a 5-0 first quarter lead. Another Chapman basket and a pair of Corrothers free throws kept West Bladen ahead 9-8 at halftime.
Coach Joe Lewis’ Lady Knights remained unbeaten at 4-0 and will travel to South Brunswick Friday at 4 p.m.
