BLADENBORO- Tinyauh Rhoda tossed in 8 points to lead West Bladen to a 17-16 Three Rivers Conference jayvee girls basketball victory over Red Springs Friday.

West Bladen’s Alexandria Perez nailed a 3-point shot in the first quarter, and Anniya Phillips tossed in another basket to edge the Lady Knights ahead 5-4 at the quarter break.

Rhoda threw in 2 baskets and hit a free throw in the second quarter, Phillips added a free throw and Jamiyah Hall pumped in a basket as the Lady Knight lead grew to 13-8 at halftime.

The visitors trimmed the margin to 14-12 in the third quarter. A Phillips free throw accounted for the only West Bladen point in the period.

Rhoda sank 2 free throws, and Ocean Woody made another foul shot in the final period to keep West Bladen on top. Perez and Phillips finished with 3 points each for the winners.

Coach Wade Pait’s Lady Knights will travel to East Columbus Tuesday.
