West Bladen High School LogoTEACHEY – West Bladen rolled to a 14-0 first-quarter lead and cruised to a 40-19 Four County Conference jayvee girls basketball victory Monday night over Wallace-Rose Hill.

Sophomore Carley Dawson scored all 6 of her points with a trio of first-quarter baskets, and Chasity Lacey drained a 3-point shot and a free throw. Lexie Corrothers and Kwashera Chapman added baskets in the period.

Lacy bombed in two more 3-pointers in the second quarter and hit 2 free throws. Corrothers and Kierra Hines tossed in baskets as the Lady Knights stretched their lead to 26-9.

Lacy flipped in a basket and a free throw in the third quarter, and Corrothers pumped in another basket to keep the margin at 31-13. Hines threw in a pair of baskets in the final period to finish with 6 points.

Lacy made 2 free throws in the period and led all scorers with 17 points. Corrothers netted another basket in the quarter and totaled 8 points in the game. Chapman hit a free throw in the fourth quarter.

Coach Joe Lewis’ Lady Knight jayvees improved to 10-1 overall and 4-1 in league play. West Bladen travels to Pender Wednesday for a 4 p.m.
