East Bladen High SchoolST PAULS – An 8-run fourth-inning propelled East Bladen to a 14-12 Three Rivers Conference jayvee softball victory over St. Pauls Friday.

The Lady Eagle grabbed the early lead with a first-inning run. Adrienne Howell drew a walk and raced home when Nesiah Davis-McKoy smacked a single to centerfield.

St. Pauls pulled even in the bottom of the inning, but East Bladen pitcher Jordan Kinlaw reached on a passed third strike and circled the bases with the go-ahead run in the top of the second.

East Bladen tacked on 2 more runs in the third. Lexie Guy drew a lead-off walk, and Davis-McKoy walloped a triple that scored Guy then scored on an error for a 4-1 lead.

St. Pauls cut the margin to 4-3 before East Bladen exploded for 8 runs in the fourth. Carlie West smacked a single to right-centerfield, Kinlaw legged out an infield hit, and Alyann Gregg drew a walk.

Grey Guy’s infield hit scored a run, and Lexie Guy was hit by a pitch to force home another run. Howell laced a 2-run single that scored Gregg and Grey Guy. Davis-McKoy drove in Lexie Guy with a hit.

Majesti Corbett drew a walk, and West rapped a single that drove in Howell and Corbett, then scored on an error as the lead grew to 12-3.

St. Pauls sliced the margin to 12-8 in the bottom of the fourth. East Bladen tacked on 2 runs in the top of the sixth. Howell led off with a walk, and Lila McDuffie followed with a hit. Corbett ripped a single to left that scored Howell and McDuffie.

The Lady Bulldogs rallied with 4 runs in their final at-bat but came up 2 runs short.

Davis-McKoy batted 3-4 with a triple, 3 runs batted in and 2 runs scored to lead the East hitters. West finished 2-4 at the plate with 2 rbi’s and 2 runs scored.

Howell, McDuffie, Kinlaw, Corbett and Grey Guy connected for one hit each. Howell and Corbett drove in 2 runs each, and Lexie Guy and Grey Guy had one rbi each.

Lexie Guy, Howell and Kinlaw scored 2 runs each, and Corbett, McDuffie, Gregg and Grey Guy scored one run each.

Kinlaw pitched a complete game and struck out six to pick up the pitching victory.

East Bladen will host East Columbus Tuesday at 4 p.m.
