CERRO GORDO – An 8-run second inning propelled East Bladen to an 18-11 victory over West Columbus Thursday in Three Rivers Conference jayvee softball action.

The Lady Eagles’ Adrienne Howell slammed a double and scored a first-inning run, but West Columbus answered with 2 runs in the home first. After East Bladen went up 9-2, the Lady Vikings trimmed the margin to 9-7.

Four runs in the third inning padded the East lead to 13-7, but the Lady Vikings pulled to within 13-9 before a 5-run Lady Eagle fifth sealed the verdict.

Kayla Bell, Grey Guy and Jenna Stephenson scored 3 runs each for the winners. Nesiah Davis-McKoy scored 2 runs, and teammates Lexie Guy, Howell, Shelby Smith, Chelsea Herring, Sara Corriveau, Sierra Strickland and Joi Kemp scored one run each.

The Lady Eagle jayvees evened their record at 1-1.
