FAIRMONT – Fairmont scored ten runs in their final two at-bats to overcome a 12-4 East Bladen lead and claim a 14-13 Three Rivers Conference jayvee softball victory Friday.

East Bladen was leading 12-4 when pitcher Jordan Kinlaw suffered a leg injury. Kinlaw had held the Lady Tornadoes to only 4 runs through four innings.

The Lady Eagles took a 1-0 first-inning lead. Kinlaw was hit by a pitch and scored on Majesti Corbett’s single.

East Bladen added 3 runs in the second. Lila McDuffie walked, and Adrienne Howell smashed a double that scored McDuffie. Grey Guy walked, and Nesiah Davis-McKoy’s fielder’s choice scored Howell. Kinlaw smacked a single that scored Grey Guy.

Carlie West slammed a double to right-centerfield to start the Lady Eagle third inning. Corbett lined a double to left that scored West. Lexie Guy smacked a single that scored Corbett.

Howell cracked a single that scored Lexie Guy, and Alyann Gregg drove in Howell with a double that pushed the East lead to 8-0.

East Bladen added 2 runs in the top of the fourth to pad the lead to 10-0. Kinlaw led off with a single, West walked and Corbett rapped a single to center that scored Kinlaw. Walks to Lexie Guy and McDuffie forced home West.

After Fairmont scored 4 in the fourth, the Lady Eagles tacked on 2 runs in the fifth. Davis-McKoy belted a single, and Kinlaw reached base on an error. West reached on an error that scored Davis-McKoy, Corbett’s ground-out plated Kinlaw.

Fairmont closed the gap to 12-10 in the home fifth, and East Bladen added a run in the sixth. Howell walked and scored on Davis-McKoy’s single for a 13-10 lead.

Corbett batted 3-4 with a double, 4 runs batted in and a run scored to lead the East Bladen hitters. Kinlaw turned in a 2-4 day at the plate, scored 3 runs and drove in one. Davis-McKoy batted 2-5 with 2 rbi’s and a run scored.

Howell batted 2-3 with a double, 2 rbi’s and 3 runs scored. West doubled, scored 2 runs and drove in a run. Gregg doubled in a run. Lexie Guy singled in a run and scored one. McDuffie and Grey Guy scored runs, and McDuffie drove in a run.

East Bladen will host St. Pauls Tuesday.
