BURGAW – An 8-run third inning carried Pender to an 11-3 Four County Conference jayvee girls softball victory over West Bladen Tuesday.

The Lady Knights had tied the game 3-3 with 3 runs in the top of the third. Freshman Kasee Singletary and sophmore Erica McKoy started the inning with singles.

Pitcher Brittany Landreth knocked in Singletary with a single, and Indiyah Williams’ fielder’s choice plated McKoy. After Elizabeth Allbright was hit by a pitch, Erica Storms drove in Landreth with a single.

Landreth batted 2-2 with a run batted in and a run scored to lead the Lady Knights. Storms also finished 2-2 at the plate with an rbi. Singletary, McKoy, and Katie Guyton collected one hit each. Singletary and McKoy scored runs, and Williams had an rbi.

The Lady Knight jayvees will host Village Christian at 4:30 Thursday.
