DUBLIN – Indiyah Williams and Erica McKoy connected for 3 hits each to lead a 14-hit attack that carried West Bladen to a 13-6 Four County Conference jayvee softball victory over East Bladen Thursday.

East pushed across a run in the first as freshman Johanna Parker walked and sprinted home when freshman Lorna Mendell roped a single to left.

The Lady Knights answered with 5 runs in the home first. Sophmore Erica McKoy slammed a double and scored on pitcher Brittany Landreth’s infield hit. Williams yanked a single to leftfield that scored Landreth.

Elizabeth Allbright reached base on an error, and Erica Storms smacked a single that scored Williams. Kaitlyn Willoughby smashed a double that drove in Allbright and Storms for a 5-1 West lead.

Sophmore Ja’Tyra Moore-Peterson beat out an infield hit, and Trinity Stephens walked. Both Moore-Peterson and Stephens scored on errors to slice the margin to 5-3.

McKoy hammered a double to left to start the Lady Knight second. Freshman Kasee Singletary cracked a single that scored McKoy. Landreth poked a single to rightfield that drove in Singletary. Williams rapped a single to centerfield, and Allbright walked.

Freshman Jordan Benson belted a single that scored Williams and Allbright, and Willoughby’s infield hit plated Benson and stretched the lead to 10-3.

In the East Bladen third, sophmore Anna Kate White drew a walk and dashed home when Trinity Stephens connected for a single.

West Bladen scored a run in the home third. Landreth walked and eventually scored on Rayna Bryan’s fielder’s choice.

Parker walked in the East Bladen fourth, and scooted home when freshman Izzy Smith hammered a triple. Smith later scored to whittle the lead to 11-6.

Katie Guyton and Diana Pampino drew walks to begin the West Bladen fourth. McKoy knocked in Guyton with a double, and Singletary drove in Pampino with a single.

Williams batted 3-3 scored twice and drove in a run. McKoy slugged 3 doubles, scored twice and drove in a run. Willoughby was a perfect 2-2 with a double and 3 runs batted in. Landreth batted 2-3 with 2 rbi’s and 2 runs scored.

Singletary finished 2-4 at the plate with 2 rbi’s and a run scored. Storms and Benson added one hit each. Allbright scored 2 runs, and Storms, Benson, Guyton and Pampino scored one run each. Benson had 2 rbi’s, and Storms and Bryan had one rbi each.

Smith tripled in a run and scored a run to lead the East Bladen hitters. Mendell and Stephens contributed rbi hits. Moore-Peterson also singled. Parker scored 2 runs, and White, Moore-Peterson and Stephens scored one run each. Olivia Hollingsworth pitched for the Lady Cougars.

Tuesday the Lady Knight jayvees fell behind 7-3 to Midway in the second inning and rallied to within 8-7 before the game was stopped by the time limit.

Singletary blasted two triples, batted 4-4, scored a run and drove one in to lead the West Bladen hitters. McKoy, Landreth, Williams, Storms and Benson collected one hit each.

McKoy scored 2 runs, and Landreth scored one. Landreth drove in 2 runs, and Williams, Storms, Benson and Allbright drove in one run each.

Coach Joe Lewis’ Lady Knights finished their season with a 6-6 record.
