RED SPRINGS – West Bladen scored in every inning Tuesday and rolled to a 17-6 Three Rivers Conference jayvee softball victory over Red Springs.

Haley Guyton and Kylee Ward drew walks to begin the Lady Knight 1st inning. Maddie Taylor belted a single to left, and Taylor Lewis drove in a run with a bunt single. Guyton, Ward and Taylor all scored for a 3-0 West Bladen lead.

Kayla Norris, Kolee Wilkins and Guyton cracked singles in the 2nd inning for the Lady Knights. Kennedy Carroll, Ward, Taylor and Lauren Pait all drew walks in the inning. Norris, Carroll, Wilkins, Guyton and Taylor all scored runs in the inning, and Wilkins and Guyton drove in runs as the West lead grew to 8-2.

Norris, Wilkins and Guyton drew walks in the 3rd inning, and Carroll, Ward, Taylor and Pait were all hit by pitches. Norris, Carroll, Ward and Taylor scored runs as the lead grew to 12-2.

Red Springs sliced the margin to 12-6 in the home 3rd, but the Lady Knights answered with 5 runs in the 4th. Olivia Allen was hit by a pitch, and Carroll reached base on a passed 3rd strike. Wilkins and Guyton walked, before Ward hammered a triple to left-center field that cleaned the bases. Taylor drilled a double into the left field corner that plated Taylor. Allen, Carroll, Wilkins and Guyton also scored runs.

Taylor batted 2-2 with the run-scoring double and 3 runs scored. Ward tripled, drove in 2 runs and scored 3 runs. Carroll and Guyton scored 3 runs each. Wilkins and Norris scored 2 runs each. Allen scored a run. Wilkins, Guyton and Lewis delivered run-scoring hits, and Norris had one hit.

Winning pitcher Taylor struck out 6 in her 4 innings in the circle and allowed 6 runs – 3 earned – on 5 hits and 3 walks.

Coach Joe Lewis’ Lady Knights are now 2-0 in Three Rivers play and 2-1 overall. West Bladen will host Red Springs Friday.
