DUBLIN – West Bladen’s Lady Knights pounded out 20 hits and rolled to a 22-7 non-conference jayvee softball victory Thursday over Village Christian.

Elizabeth Allbright slammed a triple and a double, batted 4-4 and scored 2 runs to lead the West Bladen hitters. Sophmore Erica McKoy also batted a perfect 4-4 with a double and 3 runs scored.

Winning pitcher Brittany Landreth finished 4-5 at the plate with a triple and 3 runs scored. Erica Storms batted 3-4 with 3 runs scored. Teammate Ivanay Louis posted a 2-3 game at the plate and scored 3 runs.

Freshman catcher Kasee Singletary blasted a 2-run home run and scored 4 times. Jordan Benson hammered a double and scored a run. Diana Pampeno singled and scored, and freshman Katie Guyton scored 2 runs.

Landreth pitched the first 4 innings and struck out 6 batters. Storms finished up in the circle and struck out two.

Singletary walked and McKoy, Landreth and Storms cracked consecutive singles to start the Lady Knight first inning. Allbright cleared the bases with a triple that put West Bladen up 4-0.

Village edged ahead 5-4 in the top of the second before West Bladen exploded with 12 runs in the bottom of the inning. Louis singled, and Singletary slugged her 2-run homer that gave West the lead.

McKoy belted a single, and Landreth walloped a triple. Allbright, Benson and Pampeno smacked singles. Storms and Allbright added singles as the lead grew to 16-5.

A trio of errors by Village started the West Bladen third inning. McKoy, Landreth, Storms and Allbright connected for consecutive singles as the lead grew to 22-5.

Coach Joe Lewis’ Lady Knights improved to 2-3 with the victory and will travel to Midway Tuesday at 4:30.
