West Bladen High School LogoFAIRMONT – West Bladen rallied with 5 runs in the sixth inning to edge Fairmont 9-8 Wednesday in Three Rivers Conference jayvee softball action.

Fairmont built a 6-0 lead before the Lady Knights rallied with 4 runs in the fourth inning. Katelynn Tatum smacked a lead-off single to right-centerfield. Madison Walters and Taylor West cracked singles that scored Tatum and Walters.

Katie Guyton reached on a single, and Tinyauh Rhoda laced a single to right that scored West and Guyton to slice the lead to 6-4.

Walters started West Bladen’s 5-run sixth inning with a single to left. Consecutive walks to Guyton, Ivanay Louis and Amelia Brisson forced home Walters.

Summer Addington swatted a single to right that scored Guyton and Louis. Armani Cowan knocked in Brisson and Addington with a single to stretch the West Bladen lead to 9-6. Fairmont scored 2 runs in the home sixth to account for the final margin.

Cowan and Rhoda both batted 2-4 with 2 runs batted in each. Addington finished 2-4 at the plate with 2 rbi’s and a run scored. Walters batted 2-5 with an rbi and 2 runs scored.

West finished 2-5 at the plate with a run scored and an rbi. Guyton and Tatum added one hit each. Guyton scored 2 runs, and Tatum, Louis and Brisson scored one run each. Brisson also drove in a run.

Brisson was the winning pitcher and struck out four batters.
