ELIZABETHTOWN – East Bladen defeated Fairmont 2-0 Tuesday in Three Rivers Conference jayvee volleyball action by game scores of 25-14 and 25-22.

Freshman Kayleigh Raynor staked the Lady Eagles to a quick 3-1 lead with 2 service points. After an exchange of side-outs, freshman Katie Evans and Lila McDuffie fired in 3 service points each as East Bladen built a 14-9 lead.

Raynor and sophmore Abbie Cross tallied one service point each before Evans reeled off 4 straight service points that stretched the lead to 24-13. Set point came on a side-out.

Raynor and freshman Alyssa Futrell started the second game with 2 service points each, and Evans tied the game 9-9 with a service point. Raynor scored another service point, before Cross pulled the Lady Eagles even at 16-16 with 3 consecutive service points.

Evans chipped in with a service point, and McDuffie smacked in a pair of service points for a 23-21 East lead. Raynor served out the match with a service point.

Evans topped the Lady Eagle servers with 9 service points, and Raynor finished with 6 service points. McDuffie followed with 5 service points, and Cross totaled 4 service points. Futrell added 2 service points.

Coach Sara Ward’s Lady Eagle jayvees have now won 3 matches in a row and will travel to St. Pauls Thursday at 4:30.
